Road engine overhaul
We can totally strip your engine, have the cases vaqua blasted and then fully rebuild it using genuine BMW components (or upgraded Moorespeed components) to as-new condition. Of course, if you want any gas-flowing or other tuning work, crank balancing, etc. this can all be done at the same time.
Race engine preparation
We can totally strip your engine, have the cases bead blasted and then fully rebuild it using genuine BMW components and Moorespeed race components including having the crankshaft balanced. All race-prepared engines would have Omega pistons of the appropriate size, new valves, beehive springs, tapered pushrods, special valve seats, porting, race clutch and the engine balanced.

Full race 1070cc with Moorespeed short-skirt 98mm dia. pistons and long con-rods, gas-flowed heads, race camshaft, programmable ignition and race clutch (approx. 100bhp).
Valve gear overhaul
The original BMW valves must be replaced after 45,000 miles. Moorespeed’s valves and seats are produced to a higher specification, can run closer tolerances and give longer service life. We can completely overhaul your cylinder heads.
Gas flowing
While having your valve gear overhauled, now is the time to consider gas flowing – and gain an extra 1-2bhp.
Exhaust thread repairs
Seized exhaust threads? We can repair these to better-than-new condition using a harder wearing thread than original equipment.
Cylinder head repairs
Broken fins? Crack in the head? Stripped plug threads? Don’t despair – most problems can be overcome.
Gearbox repair/mods
An airhead’s gearbox does not need a ‘special technique’ when changing gear – but it does need careful rebuilding and re-assembly to perform well. We can not only perform this, but offer alternative ratios – and even a six-speed option!
Rocker lightening and shot peening
For race engines: lighter rockers helps reduce valve train weight, while shot peening improves longevity.
Engine balancing
Gives greater smoothness for both road and race engines: only undertaken during engine overhaul.
